I apologize a lot, don't I?

Well, my last post was in January.  If you "like" the fan page on facebook, then you know I'm still around!  And I've been posting things about the pregnancy there.  Speaking of, Wren Alexander was born April 30th at 1:44am EST. He weighed 8lbs 12.9oz and was 20 3/4 inches long.  (I won't post my labor and delivery story, don't worry. That's for the mommy blog!)  Moira is super excited about her baby brother but hates it when he cries.. Which is when mommy isn't holding him, during diaper changes, or if there isn't a boob or bottle in his mouth.  She loves to pet him, too, for some reason. "Because he's so cuuuuuuuute," she squeels.

The hat he's wearing and the blanket he's on? I made those!
His newborn photos were taken by April of Trio Photography and Design.  She was absolutely WONDERFUL with the kids--it helps that she has a thirteen year old boy and a two year old girl as well.

She also photographs my pieces for me when I can get them to her! Otherwise, it's my digital camera or cell phone....  Here's her facebook page

The four of us

I have a destash sale album posted on the fan page right now. I need to post them on the webpage instead of breaking facebook rules and selling them there.  I will work on listing those tomorrow. Hopefully.  OBVIOUSLY I have a wonderful track record for "plans".  And this little boy loves to be cuddled and held all the time. Preferably with a boob or bottle in his mouth.

I will be participating in a fundraiser in July at Sunflowers 4 Jeni. I don't remember what I am sending off of the top of my head right now. The pieces are set aside, I know that much! They're labeled so I don't try to sell them or gift them to anyone else.

Also, there's new products on both webstores! http://www.kypressdesigns.com and http://kypressdesigns.storenvy.com.  I post promocodes for the storenvy store often.  I'm still trying to decide which store I like better.  There are pros and cons to both and I'm not quite tech-savvy enough to do much more on either than I do already.  I will be breaking down and closing one of them (and of course, using the custom url) but I just need to figure out which way to go.

I did find a few of my patterns.  I have created pdf files of them and they are posted on both websites I believe.  I finally started making the mini top hats using the pattern I received from Monkey Shine Designs.  LOVE THEM.  However, when I came home from the hospital, I picked up my hook and started working up another but couldn't remember the pattern anymore.  I actually like the new way I'm doing them. They are smaller a bit but they stay in form better.  I haven't tried attaching roses or flowers yet... The attachments are going to end up being almost as big as the hat!  I'll figure out a middle ground eventually.

Alrighty... Now that it's the day AFTER I started writing this post, I think I need to quit typing and either sleep since the baby is sleeping for a bit or get to crocheting while he isn't wanting to be held.  Sleep is looking like it's going to win, just a warning.  With how much this child loves being cuddled, making jewelry is going to be interesting!  As always, if you have any questions, feel free to contact me!  I check my e-mail daily (multiple times a day often) so you should receive a quick response!  I love doing custom orders, so don't hesitate to inquire about those either.  Good night everyone!  [And sorry about the huge gap between posts... and about all the links in this post!]

Apologies!

I'm sorry! I still haven't finished up those new pieces yet--OR found my patterns that I wanted to share with y'all.  It seems like the universe has something out for me lately. If I'm not sick, someone else in the family is!  And we're still fighting my three-and-a-half year old for potty training (we're almost out of diapers; if she's not on the pot by then, well, she's outta luck because we can't buy anymore).
And then Saturday at work (I posted this on facebook and twitter), I had a pregnancy brain moment.  I'd started brewing decaf... about half way through the pot, I forgot that I'd just started it and didn't seem to see the stream of boiling liquid. I tried to dump the coffee grounds. Instead I burned my hand pretty good.  [BY THE WAY, did you know that yellow mustard helps with burns? I didn't, but everyone else at McDonald's did!  and it really does help.]  I can use it now--it still hurts to grip my pliers, so I won't be doing jewelry for a few more days, but I can crochet now!
My husband has a sinus infection and his nose won't quit bleeding.  We spent 3 hours at the doctor's office today--I had an OB appointment to check on our little boy and we were trying to get him seen by a physician's assistant (spent half hour in waiting room, hour in the room waiting for the doc, half hour in check up, half hour waiting for his appointment, half hour in room with the p.a.)--a lot of the issue today was their system kept crashing. But we're always waiting an hour or more for my doctor.  It's that way no matter who I'm seeing.  But, back to the hubs. So he's pretty worthless right now.  No matter what pain killer he uses, it quits after about two hours. Ibuprofen does nothing for him, acetaminophen just dulls the pain, Alleve took the pain away completely--but then came back full force after a few hours.. My poor hubby.  I wish I could do something to take away the pain.... besides, you know, knocking him out.  Really don't want to add a concussion to his already long list of ailments.
Feel free to look around my facebook page. There are a lot of really awesome shops with giveaways going on--and ALL of them have really awesome items!  I love each and every one of them!  I still need to update my link list here on the blog. But, until then, check out facebook! And, as always, my shop at storenvy is open  (I still need to get kypress designs fixed and running again.)
If you have any questions or any suggestions, feel free to e-mail me at kypressdesigns@gmail.com !  I hope you are all having a wonderful year so far!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

I hope everyone has a wonderful evening and I pray that 2012 is better for us ALL!

I'm going to keep this short since I waited until 9:46pm to even START this post.  I'm working on getting a lot of inventory stocked up and organizing my work space a bit better (I'll eventually post photos...I'm just rather embarrassed by it).  Life can be a bit hectic, as you all know!  I will also have a few sales going on soon too!  Keep an eye out for new products in the VERY near future!

(and don't forget to go check out my lovely crafty friends that make things that I don't and/or make things even cooler than mine!)

Last Chance

I already posted on the facebook fanpage, but I wanted to post a blog as well.

I have thought long and hard about the holidays coming up, the stressful events of finding a last minute gift for family members if I don't have time to create one, and THAT made the decision for me.  NOVEMBER 20th is the last day I will accept custom orders.  I will figure out something with the stores--basically, I'll have to put the items on hiatus or "hide them".  I will put up ready-to-ship items throughout December until the new year, but NO custom orders.

Work at the restaurant has been super stressful lately, and that is taking a toll on this pregnancy.  Add in being mom to a three year old red head (YES, the myth is true about redheads) and wife to a gamer, and I have no energy.  I'm in the second trimester! What happened to the promised energy?!

I apologize for any inconveniences... Keep in mind, though, if you e-mail me and plead enough, I will probably cave and do a custom order for you.   I hope everyone is safe and healthy!
